Now, Pansumnet grows with many more members as heritage movement grows in the region. Currently, there are 85 members of Pansumnet.

What is Pansumnet?

Pansumnet is an informal network that opens for all parties involved in cultural heritage. All members are equal and voluntarily run the network in various possible ways to support each other. The network was established in 1998 by Sumatra Heritage Trust in Medan, Indonesia.

Up to now, development of heritage conservation in Sumatra has had a significant progress although it is far from perfection. Several cities have published local regulation with a list of protected historical buildings, establish new museums, attract private investments and become active members of the Indonesian Heritage Cities Network and other regional and international networks.
