SUMATRA HERITAGE TRUST- BERANDA WARISAN SUMATRA (BWS)

Sumatra Heritage Trust (SHT) was established in 1998 in Medan, Indonesia, by a group of locals from the private and public sectors, including higher education lecturers. The original Indonesian name was Badan Warisan Sumatra (BWS) and, in 2020, after reorganization, the Indonesian name was changed to Beranda Warisan Sumatera with the same abbreviation, BWS.

BWS is the non-profit organization which has also established a heritage network called Pan-Sumatra Network for Heritage Conservation (Pansumnet) on the Island of Sumatra. This informal network consists of individuals and organizations concerned with the cultural heritage of Sumatra.
